About the Department

Electrical and Electronics Engineering has an enormous and widespread impact on our daily lives. From power stations to electric vehicle charging, telecom networks to computing infrastructures, electronic systems in our homes, the world of entertainment and industry: all are created, designed and operated by electrical engineers. Our training equips graduates with all these skills and qualifies them to progress to rewarding careers. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has an excellent reputation for both its teaching and research work. We have very high student satisfaction and many of our graduates have found relevant employment within six months of leaving the college. The course has full accreditation from NBA and the degree offered is through JNTUH.

The department was started in the year 2001 with an intake of 40 (B.Tech.) and at present, the intake is 30. The department has twelve state-of-art laboratories which have been set up in accordance with the JNTU syllabus. M. Tech program in Electrical Power Engineering was started in the year 2010. Minor programs in Artificial Intelligence & Machine LearningCyber Security and Data Science are also introduced from 2021 which can be taken up by the students in addition to their B. Tech Degree. The Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) with Minor program focuses on the fundamental principles of multiple Engineering disciplines, critical & analytical thinking and the ability to develop a distinctive approach to the interdisciplinary problems.

The department's faculty strength as of today is 24, and all are Post-Graduates in Electrical Engineering. Out of 24, 9 are doctorates, and 12 are pursuing Ph.D. in various universities in the state of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Staff members of this department are encouraged to improve their qualifications and get involved in research. Full support is provided for the same by the college. Study leave with full pay, incentives for research publications etc., are few to mention.

A Technical Association (ELECTROCRUISE) of EEE has been formed by the Department for the benefit of all students to impart additional knowledge in the field of E&E Engineering apart from the prescribed curriculum by organizing Guest lecturers (by Professors from IITs, NITs, BITs, IIITs, Universities & Industries), industrial visits, Technical Quiz, Workshops on Embedded systems, Circuit Design and PCB making, Contests for students and also to develop the organizing capabilities among the students.

Senior students of EEE conduct workshops and hands-on sessions to their junior students on PCB design and Embedded systems, which is initiated by the Department in the year 2014 (Learning from Peers). It is the first of its kind implemented and the idea is working very well. The majority of the students are participating. This activity is helping even in building up interactions between the senior and junior students. In addition to this, students and staff of EEE are very seriously involved in community outreach activities such as Swachh Bharat, Teaching campaigns on moral values, computer education, communication skills, project model developments etc. are conducted on regular basis in nearby Government schools located in villages such as Kongara Kalan, Pocharam and many other villages. The Department is concentrating on the overall development of the student and progressing confidently in achieving the goals by involving all stakeholders to a great extent. A solar power plant of 360kW is established in the college and more than 60 % of the power requirement of the college is met with these plants. Students are encouraged to do innovative projects and college management is very positive and supports them in every aspect to complete them.
